I had scheduled an engagement shoot with Miranda and Richie several weeks ago on a warm fall afternoon, knowing that we might well be into some colder temperatures or even some snow by the date. Fortune shown up us on this brisk afternoon and Paradise Valley was spectacular with her mountain tops capped with snow. It was a quick and breathtaking photo shoot beside the Yellowstone River and on a hill top above the valley just before sunset. Enjoy the view!
Engagements
Yellowstone Proposal – continued
After getting chased out of Yellowstone National Park by circumstances outside of my control, namely a Bison traffic jam and wildly powerful weather that took an hour out of my photo shoot with this fine couple. Days later we met in the gorgeous Paradise Valley in Montana… I like to call it my backyard studio. Images of joy above the mighty Yellowstone River and on an overlook above the valley with Champagne, giggles, happiness, hugs and kisses! Then just when we thought we were done with the photo shoot the sky exploded and we found a river access that made the perfect place to make some fast images and call it a day! Quite a day indeed!
Nishaad and Alexa, the pleasure was mine… enjoy the view!
Yellowstone River engagement
We had been waiting for this day! And finally everything aligned and it was a stellar day to photograph on the banks of the mighty Yellowstone River.
Rachel and Ian are marrying next June and we’ve been jockeying around busy schedules, rainy weather and life in general to land on a day to shoot. Perseverance and patience won out! So we met up by the river and packed in about a mile with clothes, cameras and a swim suit. I never miss a chance to get into the Yellowstone.
Oh my… it was magic. Check it out!
Gallatin River Hideaway engagement
I met Michael and Rebecca yesterday at the Gallatin River Hideaway for a ‘getting to know you’ engagement session. I love this part of what I do! It’s serves as a photographer’s meet and greet. It gives me the opportunity to meet my new clients face to face and see who they are and how they interact with one another. And, they get to meet me in person and see how I work… fast and fun! They will have a great collection of images of this lovely day together at this beautiful venue they have chosen. It has many pluses, but the best part of it for me is that I will not be a stranger to them on the wedding day. They will be less camera aware which will allow me to capture more of the natural occurring beautiful moments of their wedding day.
Enjoy these warm and sunny moments along the banks of the Gallatin River. Cheers to Michael and Rebecca!
Paradise Valley spring engagement
Spring weather has been trying to overcome the grip of Montana’s long winter. Some evening are in the 30’s and days have varied from 52 to 85 degrees F. On this day the temps were very comfortable and the breezes ruled every moment of this engagement shoot with this handsome couple. I’ve been working with Mike and Anna to find a good mutual time that worked for us and … the weather. We started talking about a year ago and finally the timing was right for this photo shoot. It wasn’t just ‘right’ it was ‘perfect’ and the photos tell the story of a relationship that has been abiding and growing for 12 years. NOW… the wedding is in the works!!!
Congratulations to Mike and Anna. Enjoy the view of the amazing Paradise Valley on this gorgeous breezy spring day in June.
Oh, and the day would not have been complete without the presence of their wonderful canine companion BO! My new doggie buddy. What a ham!
snowy engagement session
25 degrees and blowing a little snow along the Yellowstone River in Paradise Valley… makes for a quick and exciting engagement session! Joshua and Krista were up for it and since they drove all the way from Billings, all systems were go. My finger tips got a little numb but we shot quickly and kept the pace up! No lounging around by the river on this shoot! hahahha
Enjoy the brisk vibes of this photo session!
